Maggie Smith is a curator, artist, community leader, and jewelry enthusiast, as well as co-owner of Dransfield Jewelers in Richmond, Virginia. She is passionate about building connections among makers, organizations, and communities through jewelry and the arts

Brandy Savarese is an unlikely board member for the Baltimore Jewelry Center, having as yet no direct experience with jewelry-making or metalsmithing. Professionally, she is chief of staff for a Baltimore City Council Member, where she leverages more than twenty years of strategic thinking and operations across multiple roles in academia, local government, and the private sector. Personally, Brandy spends as much time as possible riding and competing with her Thoroughbred mare, Beryl (a name perhaps foreshadowing her opportunity with the BJC!). In her position as board vice president, Brandy hopes to leverage her systems thinking and beginner’s mindset in service of the Jewelry Center’s health and longevity.

Mary Fissell is a historian and a metalsmith. She writes about the histories of sex, gender, and the body. She has been working in metal for a decade, with a focus on both fabrication and enameling. She's a storyteller, whether it's in words or in metal. 

Ashley is a strategic thinker who thrives at the intersection of culture, business, and people. A proud Baltimore native, she is passionate about increasing access to the arts for underrepresented communities. Ashley brings a creative lens to her professional work, and a personal love for the arts that spans from gallery walls to community spaces. She’s energized by the city’s rich culture, inspired by its makers, and firmly believes that everyone should have the opportunity to create. She also firmly believes that Old Bay belongs on everything.
